Get Involved!
Committees will be responsible for coordinating and executing OTNJ activities and efforts
- Committees will consist of one Chair and several Members
- Committee appointments (Chair and Members) will last 6 months at a time and will be approved by the Board
- Members will be solicited from the public, will be down-selected and or reassigned by the Board
Activity Representatives
- Activity Representatives will be responsible for representing that activities interests in OTNJ
- Will be responsible for interface and relationship with any stakeholder groups associated with that activity
- Proposed Activity Representatives: 4×4, Enduro, Geocaching, Hiking, History, Horseback Riding, Hunting, Kayaking
OTNJ Committees
Outreach/Education– Communicate messages about the importance of respecting the forest and conserving our resources. Provide education on unique flora and fauna of the Pine Barrens as well as the history of the area. Affiliate with groups such as Tread Lightly who support a similar agenda
Government and Community Relations- Maintaining relationships with the DEP, state legislators, rallying the public for action, etc. Monitoring and influencing legislation
Volunteer Activities– Arranging clean ups, building barriers, maintaining signage, reporting issues (fallen trees, party hot spots, etc.)
Fundraising– Developing fundraising activities, merchandising/inventory
Membership- Managing membership. Collecting membership fees, sending out membership packages, reminding members to renew expiring memberships
Media/Promotion– Maintaining the web page, regular posting of information and news, posting newsletters
